Our Story

My Brother’s Keeper was established for two reasons;

Firstly, with the aim of delivering good quality apparel to the more-adventurous side of the South African community, hard-wearing clothing and harder-working gear! And secondly, out of a necessity and duty to help care for South African war vets of old.

The Memorable Order of Tin Hats (http://www.moth.org.za/) or the MOTHs as it is more popularly known, is an ex-serviceman’s organisation that was founded in Durban, South Africa, in May 1927 by Charles Alfred Evenden. Today the MOTHs cares for and houses old South African war vets, with zero assistance from the South African government. Men and women that gave years of service for their country, that were prepared to lay down their lives, were simply discarded and forgotten.

It is from here that My Brother’s Keeper found its name, and from here that we will do what we can to help.

When you go home – tell them of us, and say
“For your tomorrow, we gave our today”.
